St. Edmund Open House presentations will provide information on programming and registration procedures. Information about the opportunity for a Shadow Day available for new students interested in attending a day with our Recreation, Hockey or Soccer Academies will be available at our Open House .
Enrollment and Acceptance into St. Edmund
Students are accepted in accordance with ECSD Administrative Procedure 300.
Student acceptance into a sport academy has additional requirements, which include:
Minimum skill level.
Space.
Ability to participate independently.
Ability to positively contribute to the competitive nature of the academy.
In order to run the academy efficiently, some students may be accepted into an academy that are non-resident/non-catchment area students. In these cases:
Acceptance into an academy program does NOT entitle siblings or members of the same household to also attend St. Edmund.
Removal or withdrawal from an academy program will require students to return to their designated school.
ACADEMY APPLICATIONS
All students must register using one of the two options below according to where they are currently enrolled in school this year.
Shadow days are held off site and it is a session where the child participates in activities with our academy students. It is not a classroom session.
Option 1 - CURRENTLY ATTENDING ANY EDMONTON CATHOLIC SCHOOL
Step A – Register for a SHADOW DAY!
Step B – Register with ECSD by logging onto your PowerSchool (available beginning February 2nd) and completing your 2026-2027 Registration Intentions (select Academy preference).
Option 2 - CURRENTLY ATTENDING A NON-EDMONTON CATHOLIC SCHOOL (EPSB, private or outside of Edmonton)
Step A – Register for a SHADOW DAY!
Step B – Register by accessing the ECSD Register Now! Website.
The school office will communicate ‘accepted students’ to parents via email with an Acceptance Letter into St. Edmund IB World School first, before being accepted into Academy. Each Academy application is reviewed by the Principal and Academy Lead Directors. Final decisions regarding acceptance or non-acceptance to academies are communicated to parents. Please note that applications are not considered complete until the school has received the Online Student Registration Form and all supporting documents.
Please note: Due to the popularity of our Sports Academies and limited spaces within them, some student athletes may be accepted to the school, but not to their chosen Sports Academy.
